August in Gypsum

Playing in the yard today I got to snap a couple of good pics! Oh how I love grass!

Wow, time flies! After getting back from Hawaii, life has hit full force! Cross country is already two weeks into our season. We had a great retreat and are getting ready for our first meet on Friday. Justin has taught his first three days of the 2012-2013 school year and had a week of teacher prep before that. Life with two babies at home is go-go-go and I have to plan my down time accordinly or nothing gets done! I passed on a camping trip with the guys this weekend due to my horrible nightly cough, but I was productive here at home. I organized my pics from the last month and am ready to catch up on some blogging! Here are some random ones from August in Gypsum!

What do you do when you miss the beach/pool/hot tub from Hawaii??? Play in the sink of course!
Macy is just chillin' in the swing!

My sweet college friend Tracy paid us a visit before her sister's wedding. I love her so much and it was great to have her at the house and meet Macy.

Macy and her bff Lindy. They coordinated their outfits for this dinner together ;)

Justin took me out for a night in Vail for my birthday. We listened to a really good jazz concert and then went to the Chophouse for dinner. He made me a customized card (loved it!) and we finished the night with some ice cream (loved that too!). Oh and he also got me a night's stay and spa package for when xc is over (he told me I couldn't go now because I wouldn't relax...I would just think about the season...he knows me too well). I have one good hubby!

Just hanging out around the house!

Where's Macklin? He has been loving his stuffed animals lately!

Speaking of stuffed animals....look what came from Grandma????
This Tigger has been at Grandma's house since Justin gave it to me when we were about 16 years old. I slept with it until we got married and now Macklin can play with it! So fun to have a life-sized stuffed animal! I even got some video footage!

Lunch date with Melissa. It is so fun to be able to let Macklin play a bit on his own at the park these days. That means I can actually TALK to a friend while we are there! Super!

Meeting baby Isaac for the first time at a mommy group last week.
This is Bergon's son. He is almost a month old!

Ben Turns Two
Macy and I stopped by Ben's 2nd birthday party. Ben is buddies with Mack but since Mack was out of town, we attended on his behalf. He is a little cutie and his mom made some cutie duck cupcakes! What a rock star!

Here is Mack playing but is also a little sneak of the yard.
More pics to come! That is on my agenda to blog about soon.

Special Video for Grandpa

I made this on my new iMovie app on my phone.
I am excited to be able to put videos together!

July in Colorado

We have been in and out throughout July. Justin had Young Life camp, I went back to MO, we hung around CO, then headed off to Hawaii! Now that we are back and getting into a normal routine, it is time to post some pics!

Instagram: a free photo-sharing app for iPhones and now Android phones that allows users to take a photo, apply a digital filter to it, and then share it on a variety of social networking services, including Instagram's own.
Now, you have to have a smart phone in order to tap into this network, but it is a ton of fun! I have posted some of these pics on Facebook (really the only way I have been posting things on FB these days), but I thought some of our family may want to see them. Any square pics with a funny filter are form Instagram.

Mud Run
The first weekend home from STL (actually the very next morning), I met up with members of the track team for the 1st Annual Gypsum Dirty Dozen Mud Run. It was not quite a Warrior Dash and was a far cry from a Tough Mudder, but it was a super fun day and way cooler than I expected! Good work to the Town of Gypsum for continuing to put on cool event for our small town and nice showing from the track team.

The next day we took Mack and Baxter to play in the mud pit from the run! He loved it!

Baxter's 2nd Hair Cut
We borrowed the sheep shearers and gave Baxter his second hair cut from the Brandt Barber Shop. It went much faster this time and I think we did a pretty good job. I will have to find a final photo of him or take one this week. He is one skinny pup. After a week of playing in the river with Daniel every day and not getting brushed...he was gross! He looks smoking hot now!

Random Pics of the Kids

The awesome swaddle wrap that we use - totally necessary for any newborn!

Macklin has been playing pretend a ton lately and it is so much fun! He got into Macy's stuff this day and tried on as much as he could. Then he took her dolls and dressed them up! We will show him this pic on his graduation or something ;)

Taking care of his little sister :)

Macy rolled over!!! About the second week of July she rolled over from her back to her tummy. She is well on her way the other way soon.

Gypsum Daze
Yet another great event by the Town of Gypsum. Gypsum Daze is a once a year event that rocks our town. Here are some of the things that we participated in that weekend.

Gypsum Daze 5k - I had one of my best races post baby life (either baby) and won the 5k! I ran a 20:41 which I haven't run in a while and out kicked a current college runner from Mesa State University. I felt pretty good about that considering the day before I literally ate nothing and was throwing up. Normal people would not have raced...clearly I am not normal. My runners did well too, earning 3 other age group ribbons.

Free Kids Zone - Macklin had a blast at the TOTALLY FREE Kids Zone. They had bouncy castles, mazes, slides, art and crafts, face painting....Gypsum does it right! Can't wait for next year. Oh, and this was after the super fun town parade :)

My friend Andrea and I got to go to a VIP dinner before the concert. I won the tickets at the 5k that morning.

Gloriana and Thompson Square were the bands playing that night at a concert for $25 (of which I also scored free tickets at the 5k...thank you to the random kid I met from Kansas that was leaving town right after the race....tried to recruit him for my team). It was super fun. Kids stayed up too late but we caught part of it and had a blast. Might have to be a babysitter night next year.

Kenyon's Birthday Party - One of Macklin's little buddies (more like I am new friends with his mom) had a birthday party a few weeks back. I didn't know they would have a pool but not having a suit didn't stop Macklin. He just jumped right in in his diaper. The sweet girl with the headband was in her undies a few minutes later too! The Madagascar cake was awesome and they made it themselves! I was impressed.

Justin trenched the yard today! Hopefully the majority of the pipes will go in tomorrow! My husband is awesome :)

New Hair Cut

The Brandt Barber Shop is in full service! Sorry to all the grandmothers that liked it long... We couldn't spike it up anymore so it was time for a trim.

Macy doesn't need my services quite yet!

Grandpa and Mema Visit

After time with Grandma, we headed to the country to see Justin's dad and the Schlottachs! What a great time we had with them all and I know that Macklin loved being with his family out there.

Meeting Macy
Another round of Macy introductions - she is so popular these days ;) Everyone got a chance to hang with her so here are a few of my favorite pictures of her with her family!

Great-Grandma Schlottach

Around the Farm
The Schlottach family continues to make the White Mule Winery and White Mule Bed and Breakfast one fantastic place. The guys have been working on this pavilion over the summer and already have weddings booked before it is even complete. If you need a beautiful place to have a wedding in MO or a nice place to lay your head, check them out!

I love how the guys get work done!

Riding the Gator with Mema

And with Uncle Kenny

Hanging out with Justin's cousin's son, Pierce

Grandpas and their grandsons

Picking veggies

Back at Grandpa and Mema's House
Macklin loved the garage! What little boy wouldn't with a tractor, riding lawnmower, and 4-wheeler. Each day we were there Grandpa took him on at least one ride of each vehicle. I am going to make a video of all of the rides for Macklin to watch at home!

Playing Basketball with the trash can and golf balls!

At the Country Club
Macklin loved the pool. Apparently no one knows how nice this pool is because we had it to ourselves for a while (We did go on a Thursday, one minute after it opened!). Macklin really enjoyed playing in the pool with Grandpa and shooting him with water guns!

The face of a boy who drinks a lot of pool water - yuck!

Thank you Grandpa and Mema for a wonderful visit!
