Grandma's Visit

Grandma came for a visit! It was so awesome to have her here while we went to Polar Bear Weekend with Young Life a couple of weeks back. It is such a service to us and our ministry that we are grateful for. Since she was here for a week, it was nice to have some extra time with her around the weekend.

Reading at Macklin's Preschool
Grandma was able to be a special reader at school while she was here. She read for just over an hour and this was the scene when I got there to pick her up! Macklin said that he stayed by her side for ALL of the books that she read and even asked if she could "have a job" again next time she came for a visit.

Thanksgiving with Friends

We had an awesome Thanksgiving dinner with friends today. It was a grew time to be relaxed and enjoy each other. We ate at the Talbots home with the Rittmillers as well.

The kids enjoying their coloring pages.

Daniel prepped some serious appetizers for us!

Macklin and Macy worked on some name cards for the tables to go with the plates.

So many things to be grateful for this season, and good friends are one of them!

Eye Update

This is my eye! Most people's eye balls do not have that huge white slash across it. Mine was damaged when I snapped a stretching band in my eye in September. I just had my 8-week check up and my rental specialist said that I am healing nicely. I officially had a chorodial rupture and the white slash is the scar on my eye that is healing. I still have a bit of a blind spot but he said it would heal in the next year as it takes a while to get the blood settled in the back of my eye. I should expect no permanent eye damage, as I am grateful for. If the slash would have been vertically on the right part of the picture, it would have caused permanent vision loss. While this has been a bit of a silly ordeal, I am so thankful for workman's comp insurance and to still have my vision. I am expecting no further check ups unless something changes.

Stone Soup Lunch

Instead of a traditional Thanksgiving meal at Macklin's preschool, they had a Stone Soup meal. I have not personally read the Stone Soup stories, but it has been their focus book this month at school. It focuses on everyone contributing to provide a meal for travelers, which was originally started with a stone. The kids all picked an ingredient to put into the chicken noodle soup. And, yes, their soup did have a stone in it!

Polar Bear 2014

We had a great trip to Frontier Ranch last weekend for our winter Young Life trip. It is such an honor to be able to share Jesus with our high school friends and we are grateful to have Grandma to take care of our sweet babies while we are away.

Above is a picture of our entire Vail Valley group. About 60% of the kids are from EVHS while the others are from other local high schools. It is crazy to think that we had 21 kids on our trip with two weeks left to go before the trip. We ended up taking 101 kids. Awesome!

Here are some fun photos of my cabin while we were doing our photo scavenger hunt.

Baby 3 is a GIRL!!!

We found out this morning that Baby 3 is a GIRL! Macklin's first reaction was a pretty sad one. He face kinda dropped. He was really hoping for a boy. I think now he is over it a bit. We brought blue and pink balloons with us to make it special for the kids. Macklin said, "But I want to keep my blue balloon." I told him that he could and he was a little happier. Macy was pumped. We snapped this pic and used it as our social media announcement.

Here are a couple of the ultra sound pics. The face is always a bit scary to me - very skeleton like, but that is a good thing. Then the precious profile and girl parts! She was moving around quite a bit so no cute hands or feet this time around. The tech said everything looked great and she was measuring long in the legs (perfect for a distance runner!). We will confirm with my next OB appointment in two weeks. Praise God for this precious life inside of me!

Young Life Update & Baptism

Kylee was baptized in from of her friends and family as she professed her faith in Jesus earlier this fall. It was an awesome moment for a special young lady.

Our Young Life clubs have been full and exciting this fall. What a blessing it is to have doubled our amount of leaders and that kids are trusting us by letting us into their lives.
