"Christmas Day" at Home

It was Christmas at the Brandt home last weekend! Due to the fact that some sweet little boy and girl "accidentally" ripped open a present early, the presents had not been seen until "Christmas" morning. Macklin and Macy raced into our room to get us up and going, but they did sleep until 7:15am!

For us, Christmas is all about the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. So, you may be asking, "How did Santa come to your house so early?" The answer is that we really don't do Santa. The best post (yes, I know I could do my own) that I have read and helps me to put our thoughts into words can be found here

We started our morning with family worship and thanking God for the celebration of gifts. Then we started to rip into our gifts! We give our kids three gifts because that is what Jesus got. We don't have any special reasoning for the three gifts. There are some good ideas on this blog (gifts match the wise man's gifts) and here as well (gifts are something that a kid wants, needs, wears, and reads). I love this idea as it helps our smaller budget and helps me not stress out and really think about their gifts.

Macklin's Goodies - Razor Scooter, Play-dough Dozer Set, Fire & Rescue Cabbie with Smoke Jumpers

Macy's Goodies - 3-Wheel Scooter, Backpack, TinkerBell's Pixie Cottage

Daniel's Goodies - Bath toys for his girls and the four clothing items that have been sitting in my closet for months waiting to be mended....accomplished!

Justin's Goodies - Ski hats, Daddy Date Cards from the kids, Who Daddy Is Drawings (post on that to come) along with a gift to come in STL

My Goodies - to come in STL!! I love surprises!

Sometimes the box is the most fun!

The Razor and Cabbie were Macklin's favorite and the backpack is for sure Macy's favorite! She drank so much from her Camelbak that she was going to the bathroom all day!

Our Second Annual Christmas Breakfast - Tree French Toast

Christmas Dinner - Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Veggies on the fancy china :)

Happy Birthday to Jesus!

The end result!
