Family Photo Album - by Mack

Macklin made about six different pictures, stapled them together and called it our family photo album - so cute! The top picture is mommy and daddy on their wedding day. The bottom is our whole family of five! Love his drawings! 

Improving Art Work

Macklin's artwork just keeps getting better and better. At (nearly) 5 years old, he has a great imagination and wants to draw almost every day now. 

This drawing was after we saw the high school play, this year - High School Musical. It is four members from the cast around the center lockers and stairs area of the stage. He even asked me to give it to one of the leads in the play that happens to be on my track team. The high school boy that I gave it to actually thought it was pretty neat.

Feb/March Happenings

Macy & Bradley

We had Kari and Bradley over for lunch last week and Macy enjoyed making baby Bradley laugh! So precious. Signs of a good big sister to come???

Free Family Fun Fair

We love our town and all of the fun free things it has to offer families! The FFFF is a great annual event that we look forward to. Macy got her first full-face painting done...but she didn't like it! These smiles were gone quickly as other friends commented on it. She eventually said, "Mommy, can you take my kitty off? I don't like it." She was so self-conscious about it...so we whipped it off. 

McFarland USA

A quote I heard a lot this month was..."McFarland USA made cross country look cool!" What? We don't need a movie to make XC look good! This crew below already knows that! We went as a team on opening weekend. It was probably the most fun I have had watching a movie in a while! Now we are ready and pumped for track season! 

Track Season

We have begun! Bring on the snow and cold weather, just in time for track practice. Our kids have been troopers in the first two weeks though. I am maintaining my job as co-head coach until the baby arrives! 

 

Macklin Does Ski School

One of the local home-school moms organized a Learn to Ski day for our little ones! Normally this program is only offered through the local schools. It is $37 for two days of ski school! What a deal! Average ski school is about $120 a day. Even though the first day was hard and tiring for Macklin, he really enjoyed the second day (after stuffing his pockets full of candy!). I am glad that he had the opportunity from Vail Resorts. 

 Maternity Pictures

We were able to do some maternity pictures in the snow with Cara Leonard! Can't wait to get them back in a few weeks! 

Snow!

It is not coming very often to Gypsum nor is it staying very long, but we had a few inches last week that made the town look beautiful! 

Art Work

Macy colored the pic on the left. She is focusing for a longer period of time on her art. (Note: I colored the top bird and bottom trees, but then she did the rest.) I am just impressed that she colored most of the paper in. Macklin did the one on the right. His drawings keep getting more and more detailed.

Macklin's Writing

Macklin's letters, numbers and pictures are improving each week. It is so fun to watch him learn so much in just two day of preschool a week! He is also excited to practice what he is learning at home!

Love this one from school. Macklin choose to be a "scientist" like daddy. He has a beaker and test tube next to him!

Thanksgiving Turkey with Wings!

Not sure why this bear in his snow cave is sad...guess he got woken up :)

He is getting better at faces these days. This last one here is a face with eyes, ears, a nose, and a mouth. I am impressed :)

Happy Veteran's Day

 We want to say thank you to all of our veterans this year! We need more than just one day to thank all of the servicemen and women, that is for sure. 

Macklin made this card to send to his Great Grandpa Sprague (this is Papa's digital copy :) 

Macklin is doing a great job with his letters. The work THANK is in blue (K is on the far right). The word YOU is in red (Y is a backwards 4 and the tail of the U is abnormally long). Don't forget that purple pool in the middle. All Veteran's need a pool, duh. "Mommy, that is the little pool of icky water. It goes down the pipe and then it turns into nice water. The kids play in the little pool and the mommy's get the nice water." Thank you, Macklin. 

First Thank You Note

 Can you read that above? It says THANK YOU (the U is the hardest to read, it is sideways). I wrote it for Macklin on another sheet of paper. Then, with NO help from me at all, he was able to copy it down like this! I was so proud of him. Normally I tell him to put the letters next to each other, but I had to load up the car and just let him go. I thought he did a nice job! To add to my excitement, he drew a monster on the back. Seriously, I thought he did such a nice job!
