Moab was Macklin's first trip. We decided to be adventureous and just go for it! The Leonards invited us to go to Moab with them for the weekend on Thursday...so packed up on Friday and took everyone (Mack and Baxter of course) and arrived in Moab around midnight on Friday. Scott and Cara had everything all set up at a traditional pull in camp site. It was not quite what we had in mind, but definitely worked for our little ones. It was so fun to hang out with them.
Scott and Justin went to bike Slickrock (famous bike trail out in Moab) while Cara and I took the kids to Arches National Park. I loved every minute of it! I had never been there and it was so cool. The only bad part was that Baxter was not allowed on any of the trails and Moab was about 20 degrees too hot for his furry body! But he was kind of a novalty around Moab (because noone in their right mind takes a super hairy dog to Moab in May) and he survived!
After their ride, we met back up with the boys, got some ice cream, and then went to hike to a water fall outside of Moab. Turns out the waterfall was further away than we had hoped and the little ones were getting tired. A yummy camp-out dinner of tacos along with some s'mores hit the spot and we all crammed into our little beds to fall asleep...me, Justin, Baxter and Macklin all in the truck bed. We love truck camping and Macklin did awesome! I am glad we have an easy-going kiddo (so far at least!).
