Snowshoe Weekend

On our first weekend of break, we made the most of it! Justin and I took Mack and Baxter snowshoeing up by Fulford (near Sylvan Lake State Park) outside of Eagle. The snow was extra sticky and made snow balls form on Bax's legs! Macklin did ok as he was not quite happy all the time (even though his face looks like it in the pics :)

So cute!
Happy boy when we are talking to him!
Snow balls on his legs!

Sunday I took off to ski with Kari and Mark after church and Justin met up with Daniel Carden to snowshoe with the kids in Minturn (in Kari's backyard in Meloit Park). I came home to find them soaking in the hot tub where I quickly joined them!

Now, a week with Justin home!!!! What will we do???!!! I think he is headed to Keystone to meet up with Greg Berger in the morning and I will finish some projects up around here (sewing projects and then work on Mack's party!!). Can't wait for my brother Kevin to join us on Thursday night!

Basketball = Done, T&F = Just Starting

Justin's team won the last two games this week to end the season on a high note! Now we have our mid-winter break for a week and then track starts for me on Monday! We just keep on coaching...good thing we totally LOVE it!

Recent Adventures

Saturday before Justin's game I got to go skiing with some girls. I really only skied one run (kinda sad to admit) but it was totally worth it and I really enjoyed being with these girls!

Sunday night was a little adventure night for our YL group. We went sledding on the hill by Costco. We took Mack down (like 30 feet, not the whole thing) a few times.

The weather has been so nice that I have taken Mack to the park for the last couple of days in a row! Yesterday we met up with Sarah Cross and her two kiddos. Carolina and Mack love the swings. It was a little windy, hence the hats...even though it was like 48 degrees.

SNOW!

We finally got a big snow! It was super fun (except driving home from club in it on Monday night). It is still pretty snow covered now as most of it came Monday night and Tuesday. Macklin actually really liked being outside in it! I am happy our little $5 snow suit fits him better now!

Back in Colorado

I have been reunited with my hubby! Being back with him is so nice!
I missed my handsome man!

But....we did very little the first two days we were back together. Justin had a game on Friday was didn't come home til 1:15am from Moffat. (Varsity won but Justin's team lost). Then, he felt crummy all day Saturday and was grateful to have his game postponed due to snow so that he could sleep all day (and that he did!).

He did feel better today so we went to early church before going to my snowshoe race (I got third again) and Super Bowl party later.

Let another week begin!

Helping me unpack

His new thing....sticking his tongue out while doing anything..watch our Michael Jordan

He found the Christmas cards and realized he could rip them down!
There isn't much that he hasn't found yet.

At the snowshoe race with my biggest fans!

The Last of STL

For our last few days in St. Louis, Macklin and I got to see a few more of our favorite people. We just relaxed with Mimi and Papa some more. We got to see Christine's new house. We went to John and Jackie's house for dinner on Wednesday after stopping by Liv's gymnastics practice. We were able to have breakfast with Grandma Kathy again and then hang with Kevin some more. What a great trip it was to see family and just relax! No cleaning my house. Just a little YL work. I hardly cooked a meal (for me or Mack). It was just a nice break! Now I am refreshed and ready to tackle my little world again!

Penny (Chrissy's pup) and Mack both wanting a snack!

Watching Liv at practice

Liv is sporting the leggin's I made her for Christmas!
Way to make my day Liv!

Chomping on everything!

The Lord Provides!

As I am pulling all the paper work to send to my dad (my tax man, thank you dad!), I can't help but be overwhelmed by how much the Lord provides for us when as we serve Him. Sometimes I stress about bills (especially the medical bills from Macklin's birth) or about the little things each month, but when the year comes to a close the numbers are just crazy. How can we make it through the year on (mostly) one income in the Vail Valley while owning a house, having a baby, pouring time and money into our YL ministry, and still eat and drive our cars each day???? There is no explanation other than the Lord. I am a numbers nerd and the numbers just don't work out. When you are faithful to the Lord, He takes care of you.

Lesson learned....give to the Lord first and He will enable you to live off of the rest!

4 Teeth!

Mack's top right tooth made its official appearance today!

And then, as my mom was showing him what teeth were, I think she taught him to grind his teeth together! He only has four but it sounds so awful!!! Now...how to break that habit?

Day Defined by Weather

Macklin's day was changed by the weather today. We had intended to spend half the day with Grandma Kathy and half the day with Grandpa Don and Mema. But...St. Louis is under this intense winter storm warning and no one is going much of anywhere. All of the schools were closed yesterday and tomorrow (and probably Thrusday). At my parents house, we got some sleet and ice, but nothing to freak out over. I am renaming this the "Storm that Never Came." My mom warned me when I came home on Sunday night that I might hit the "storm." Then, on Monday kids left school early all over the area. Today EVERYTHING was closed. Seriously, it is best to be off the roads (and hwy 70 is closed from STL to KC), but where is the 12-24inches near us? Maybe it is down the street, but it is not at my parents house. Maybe it will follow through tonight and tomorrow so at least there is something to justify the the 24-7 weather/news reporting. One request though...please end all of the commotion by 2pm on Thursday so we can go home to see my handsome husband!

In order to make some of our plans work today, my dad went to get Justin's mom from her house so that she could come over to play with Macklin. Unfortunately, Grandpa Don and Mema could not make the trip in from the Washington area and we were so sad to have missed them!
