Grandma Time in StL

St. Louis Zoo Trip including the Sea Lion Show 

The Sea Lion Show was a hit with the kids this year since we had not seen it in the past. I would highly recommend it!

This was a huge hit too! The Dog Show was super entertaining to watch and the kids could have stayed forever in each room whether they were playing with pets or digging in the corn!

Day with the Brummers

We had such a fun day reconnecting with our good buddies, the Brummers! Since they have moved back to the midwest, we have talked of Cayle and Lindy often in the Brandt house. We met up at the St. Louis Science Center and had a blast together! Macklin and Cayle connected just like old buddies should! 

Imagination Station

A few weeks ago, Susie, Karley and I took the kids to the Imagination Station in the Vail Lionshead Parking Structure. We had heard mixed reviews on this facility, but I was so impressed! It was just a fun play room with unique toys. We ended up arriving too close to lunch time, but fun was had by all of the kids! They also offer arts and craft time on Mondays and Fridays from 10-2, which we just happened to catch. With the clay projects and all of the enjoyable toys for only $5/kid, we decided that we would for sure come back multiple times this winter. 

The electronic touch wall was so fun. Lots of games that you can chose from. My two favorites were black out (touch every square as fast as you can and it times you) and the ball hit (a square lights up and you throw a ball at it).

Macklin's 3rd Birthday

We celebrated Macklin's birthday today so that we could enjoy every bit of the day together! Last Wednesday (his actual birthday) was a bit crowed and we wanted him to feel every bit of the celebration. 

I set everything up last night so that when he woke up, he would have a great pile of goodies. I even made him stay in our room with Justin while I ran to get balloons and doughnuts in Eagle. 

He started digging into his gifts right away!

After gathering up, we headed to the Dinosaur Journey Museum in Grand Junction. This was our present for him - a little adventure. Macklin was a bit shy around the dinos at first, but then he warmed up. They had a big water table, sand digging area, and a cool earth quake floor to explore. It was the perfect size museum for our little guy. We stayed until the kids got tired and back to Gypsum we went. 

This model was a bit gross with the spinal cord (or something) attaching the victim dinos head to his body...weird. 

When we got back, we had our high school friends sing happy birthday to him before Campaigners. He had specifically been asking for his "egg candle" since Grandma sent it at Easter. He also picked the icing color....red always turns out looking more like pink. So, there you have it - pink cup cakes with an egg candle for birthday #3!
