Baptism Weekend

We had two sweet people in our lives get baptized in the same weekend, at the same place!

Baptism #1 - Addie
She is a sweet high school friend that attends Campaigners. I am hoping to get a breakfast book study (my girls from last year have graduated) going with these girls this fall (and one girl that couldn't make it is in the crew too). They are all seniors and have been walking with Jesus for a while now. We need to get them growing in their faith and reaching others! Congrats to Addie for professing her faith and taking the plunge!

Baptism #2 - Daniel
Man, was this an emotional one or what??? Daniel has been a part of our home for the past 15 months and it has been a huge blessing. We have gotten to walk with him through some tough stuff in his life. Jesus took all that he had and tossed it right out the window. He lost his life that he thought was perfect and now, through Jesus, Daniel has an new abundant life. When Justin was talking about Daniel in the water here, he mentioned that he had been praying for Daniel since they met on our first day at EVHS. Who would have thought those prayers would have landed them here? God is so good and has plans so much greater than ours. Out of the pain in his life came a relationship with the God of the universe....wow! Thank you Jesus for your redemption. We are blessed to call Daniel a friend. Thanks for taking a step out and proclaiming your faith buddy! It was an honor to be a part of.

Not a bad spot to be baptized (Sylvan Lake State Park).

Daniel's Best Buddies

I love this picture of my friend Abbie. She is goregous!

Mack and "Uncle" Daniel

Daniel's whole church body that came to support him and three others that got baptized that day.

The men of Eagle Bible that loved Daniel so well this year.
This was at a "We are thankful for Daniel" Thanksgiving dinner party last week. There is just something so incredible about hanging out with a bunch of people that love Jesus and have a heart to love each other. This is one good group of people.

YL Auction 2012

A couple of weeks ago, we had our 1st Annual Vail Valley Young Life "Light Up the Night" Benefit Auction. Now, I have never gone to one of these fancy things before, but this was A-MAZING! We are talking le-git set up at Beaver Creek, complete with live and silent auction items and Brandon Heath and Matt Wertz in concert. It was a top notch event, with a personal touch, that I think will grow a ton in this valley in years to come.
(I say that like I know about these things....really I just thought it was awesome and I know God put talented people in charge and He is doing big things with the high school kids in this valley...not that I actually know what donors want or what kind of events they attend.)

Fun VVYL Backdrop Pics!

Brandon and Matt

Our Campaigner girls got to give them cookies in the middle of the concert!

Our Campaigner kids with Brandon and Matt

My favorite part of the night is where we share a little personal bit about VVYL with our guests. These are called Cardboard Testimonies. On one side is a description of a kids life before starting a relationship with Jesus. On the back is a statement about their life walking with Jesus now. It was super emotional for me as a leader and I even helped them come up with some of them. But to see the kids step out, be bold and hold those signs up in front of members from their community was powerful! Try to see all the flip sides in the two pics below. It will blow you away!

Fanciest Dinner Party of My Life

Mowin' on the Mountain
(like chowing down, not like cutting grass ;)

The Occassion: Our friend Andy is leaving us. He says that he likes to love his friends by cooking for them, so we got to reap the benefits!

The Location: On top of a mountain top, a 10 minute hike behind Maliot Park in Minturn.
(Our friends seriously trekked all of this gear up there!)

The Setting: Established by Kari and Haliee. Andy was inspired by Outstanding in a Field, but honestly I think they put the website to shame. K&H noticed how hard Andy was working, so they worked even harder to put together the perfect table and surroundings! All of that while getting rained on 30 minutes before we were all coming. The water just added to the look!

Even places for the bar and chief!

The Meal: All courses have been documented. Check out the menu!

The corn soup with chicken was my favorite!

The Fun: We were required to change seats after each course. There also happened to be a meteor shower during dessert....I think Andy planned that too! It was a great bunch - some of Andy's friends from home, some random connections, and some dear friends.

One fun night...thank you Andy!
