Last Saturday we headed up to the Vail Hospital (birth place of Macklin and our future daughter hopefully) for a Siblings Class. This class is meant to show the older siblings of a new baby the A-B-Cs of the hospital. Overall I thought the experience was a fun one, but Justin kinda thought it was worthless, go figure! We got to hang out in a hospital room with 4 other little ones (5 two-year-olds and one four year old all together, including Mack's swim buddy Cayle) and their parents. We watched a cheesy VHS video about babies being brought home. The kids got snacks and got to see a new a two-day old baby. Then we got to put on doctor hats, booties, and masks and walk around the labor and delivery floor. The tour of the floor ended with a stop at the freezer for popsicles for every kid!
While it was not life changing and Justin insisted that we could have done the same thing if we just visited someone that had a baby, I think it was a fun experience! I think that Mack will be familiar with the hospital when he goes back to see his new sister. Now, will he ask for a popsicle before he asks to see his sister...YES! But, still, I think it was a fun time for him and a good experience.
Next time we go back it will be because Baby Cheese is arriving!
Only 3 weeks to go!
Checking out the baby
Getting geared up for the tour! But it didn't last long!
Finally, popsicles!
