CA Trip...Day 2

On Friday, the 6th, we headed over to our house on the beach with the Kirklands and Olivastros.

The Bylers joined us shortly after we arrived and there we were,

all 12 of us in one little beach house.

On this day, we figured out that...

--the ocean water is freezing

--the babies can watch beach volleyball from their car seats

--if you send four husbands to the grocery, the wives will forget to tell them things to get

--Macklin can help his daddy as he makes hamburgers

CA Trip...Day 1

I gotta get back on my blogging game here...I am so behind!

Mom, doing this for you...before you all leave. Let's see what I can post before Thursday!

We left for our CA trip on Thursday, August 5th. I was able to enjoy a sweet pool party with the MOPS mommys and kiddos before heading out to Grand Junction. Our sweet friends graciously OFFERED to take care of Baxter for the week and he did great! So, we were able to head out to Grand Junction for our flight and even take Eric out to dinner before hand.

Traveling with Macklin went really well. I just planned the nursing just right as to handle the weird ear pressure stuff. On the way there, no one else was on either side of our row, so we got the whole space to ourselves! Very handy.

We arrived to a crazy LAX airport...it was like rush hour, only 11pm on a Thursday night. Geoff and Jarett picked us up and we headed back to Geoff's house outside of LA.

Can't wait for some days on the beach!

We are Back!!!!

The Brandts are back in our cozy home in Gypsum, Baxter and all.

We are excited to be back but already missing our CA vactioning buddies!

Happy 4 Month Birthday to Macklin

A few things you should know about Macklin as he turns 4 months old...

Weight: 14.5 pounds (our official appointment isn't til we get back from Cali)

Length: 26 inches (again, unofficially done by me!)

Sleeping: 9.5 hours straight and then another hour after a morning feeding

Naps: Not very consistent (our fault), about two or three a day for an hour each

Eating: Still all nursing, about 5 or 6 times a day for 40 minutes

Playing: He loves to grab all kinds of toys. loves to squeeze stuffed animals and put everything in his mouth.

Attitude: He is still a super happy kid. Has his moments of crying, but overall, he is awesome!

Playdate with the Cardens

Here we go for a little run. Macklin is doing so well in the Chariot!

We got to hang out with the Cardens and play in the river on Monday. It was a ton of fun. Here are a few shots. My FlipCamera isn't working now, but I have some fun videos to upload soon!

Cory and Eric's Wedding

Saturday we got to watch some of our good friends become united as one! Eric and Cory are the two other Young Life leaders for EVHS and we have gotten to know them over the past couple of years. It was such a special moment. And...although I normally cry a few tears of joy at weddings, this was our first wedding with Macklin. So, instead of crying tears of joy, I was in the "cry room" trying to keep little Mack quite. He did great. I just don't get to focus on the emotional-ness of the wedding when I am more worried about my little one! All-in-all it was a great day! Congratulations to Eric and Cory. Here are a few pics from the day!
