Track Regional Meet 2013

In coaching, the Regional meet is always my favorite. It is the meet where kids have the opportunity to show off all of their hard work. They get to meet the best of the Western Slope all in one meet. For most, it is the last meet of the season - no reason to hold back. Many are fighting for personal bests and to put up the best mark they can in hopes of getting into the state meet. My work is pretty much done, it is the kids chance to shine!

Our kids performed GREAT! Over these days. We had a TON of personal bests and some more school records! Some of the times/marks that were hit did indeed get our athletes into the state meet. I know I posted about the possibility of winning both the boys and the girls sides of the meet. We did win the boys side, very handily (232-109 for 2nd). The Battle Mountain girls team was a bit too much to overcome and the girls held on for a solid second (192-145), very commendable! Here are some of the highlights of the meet in pictures. A great group of jumpers

Our 800 runner (left, running in the 4x4 here) was .05 seconds off of the school record and my two-miler (right) won the meet and got 2nd in the mile.

Our boys sprint relays performed well too as they won the 4x200m and got second in the 4x100m relay.

Boys Victory Bash
Interesting Fact - The boys team WON a meet every week of our season! Craziness!
