We had a great day going back into Estes Park on Thursday. We were headed into town and saw a herd of elk just hanging out near a fire station. While I was like, "oh cool" and kept driving, Jaime reminded me that she doesn't see that every week and we turned around and played the tourist role :) Macklin was very excited to see them up close.
We planed to go out to a bunch of lakes taking a National Park shuttle, but thank goodness we didn't!!! After talking to the park ranger, we realized that it would have taken an hour to get to the lakes and then we would have had to walked a mile or so and ride an hour back. Good thing I asked! We got back in a car and headed out of the Park and back into town. We drove to Lily Lake and had the best day!
We walked around the lake (which was perfect for our group). We looked for bugs. We had a picnic in the shade. We took lots of pics. Macy got to see the world facing outward in her Bjorn. It was awesome.
After nap time, Justin took Jarett off to Boulder to boulder :) Jarett had a blast and Justin enjoyed showing him one of our favorite hobbies.
After our fun day, we made (well Jaime made) a yummy dinner and had a great time chatting in the hot tub. We talked about some of our favorite moments from past trips and where to go in the future!
Some of our favorite moments from years past were:
-crazy wave pictures from Cabo
-paddle boarding in Cali
-cliff jumping at Table Rock
-being challenged spiritually by each other
-worshipping our glorious God together
-poker in Vegas
-having four families together in Cali
-hiking and bouldering in CO
-being crushed by waves in Cali and Cabo
-taking three families and four babies out to dinner in MO
...and there were more that I can't remember
